E.J. Haley is a freelance writer, journalist, award-winning essayist and poet, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He has written for the Huffington Post and has provided commentary on religion and politics for The Washington Post and The New York Daily News. He has has appeared as a panelist on MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. He resides in northeast Florida and enjoys philosophy, history, music, the arts, and home-spun crafts.  He is a lover of nature and spirituality, and in addition to his writing credentials, he is a seminary graduate, and a certified pastoral counselor.  From time to time, E.J. enjoys working as a literary consultant and coach for other writers and aspiring authors.


In addition to writing, E.J. has also been a radio and television personality. He is an honors graduate of The New School of Radio and Television and a former host of The New School's The New 16 Now airing on Time Warner Cable channel 116 in Albany, NY. E.J.'s essay, "The Grateful Poet" earned the gold medal in the 2012 National Veterans Creative Arts Competition for essay writing.  In 2007 he was nominated in two categories for recognition by the New York Press Association. His short story fiction and poetry have also earned him nominations for the Chicago Tribune - Nelson Algren Literary Award and the Spirit First Poetry Award.
